Pegrex has supplied the UK defence industry for over 50 years
Problem
Pegrex is a well-established company servicing various sectors including aerospace, jewellery and the defence sector, They manufacture and stock many certified components that meet MOD, NATO and ISO standards.
Neil, the Managing Director at Pegrex met John at A.M.E over 15 years ago. Over this time, Pegrex have laid down 3 new die casting tools for different castings including 2 tools for Royal Crown Derby requiring the highest standard of finish for chrome plating which includes fine intricate detailing on the concave surface.
“Our knowledge of the Zinc Pressure Die Casting processes was a little limited and this is where we found A.M.E went above and beyond our expectations.”
Solution
“I first spoke with John Easthope back in 2004 where we decided to ask A.M.E to quote the first project they then proceeded to take care of the tooling layout and designed tooling to meet our requirements within budget costs for tooling and finished castings tailoring a program to meet our business requirements.”
This is where the design team at A.M.E came into action. The design team worked closely alongside the team at Pegrex ensuring they were kept up to date at each process, offering support and advice regarding shape and forms of the casting to minimalise any defects in the components.
Outcome
“I always felt time was never an issue with John where he took the time to ensure each of our projects ran smoothly from conception of idea through making new tools and sampling through to product approval.
Pegrex continue to use A.M.E for all their new projects and will continue to do so in the future.
“No matter the size of your project I am confident A.M.E treats all their customers with loyalty and will go that extra mile to support any requirement you may have to ensure the best possible quality casting. I would have no hesitation in placing new business with A.M.E and recommending A.M.E pressure diecasting Limited to anyone who needs castings.Communication, coordination and cooperation is second nature to A.M.E.”
